1. Creative lag is getting bigger everyday.. As some of you have already noticed creative lags more than before. The lag waves starts when someone basicly removes/creates large amount of blocks with world edit and the wave will only end whenever server gets restarted. So what i suggest for this problem: Maybe make Default and Novice builders queue size smaller. (I know this is bad thing for some people) Remove permissions to world edit water, so only rank Builder+ can use it. 2. After the lag has been fixed, i have this idea to start some kind of weekly contest, such as Building comp every Saturday at 7pm; We would have to choose people to judge and run it. ( I could judge and run it, if you think its ok ). If you want to hear details of this suggestion, feel free to ask. ↴↴↴ 3. MegaCraft building team, just because people are asking for group builds. So this would work like so: Group of great builders (Architects - Artisans maybe some of experienced people) would all work on same build. Hopefully if possible this team could get their own world for work space, also if we want this building team to build high quality creations, we might need Voxel sniper for better terraforming. These buildings could advertise the server on Youtube/PlanetMinecraft; so the creations will be uploaded to youtube and posted to PlanetMinecraft. I want to provide a longer and more elaborate post, but I'm writing from my phone atm... I really don't want to limit Creative a lot. One of the reasons MegaCreative has gained traction against the many other creative server that have sprung up in the last year is that we have a lot less limitations and more advanced features are available to everyone. Nevertheless, lag needs to be addressed. I got an idea that I need to test to prevent water lag. Also, I took a timings snapshot before I restarted the server today so I can find the direct causes of the lag. Tl;dr Optimization > removing features
I also suggest making a scheduler that each.. around 2 hours or something like that, it will unload chunks or do something that lowers lag.
Brilliant! This is a genius way to reduce lag without over-limiting the privileges. I also admire your "Build team" idea. I would be most content and interested in applying for the build team. I am able to construct modern structures like cars, skyscrapers, restaurants, etc. I hope your idea satisfies the owners!
