Easy Ways to Improve your House

Aren't you tired of your plain square house and want to improve it? It's your lucky day because I'm going to show you how to improve it with these 5 easy steps!

    First step: Foundation

In this step you're going to put your choice of blocks as a pillars or foundation and the connect then after 4-5 blocks high. They're usually placed 3-block apart to each other like on what I did in the picture above, but you can use more gap. The foundation will determine the shape of your house. In my example, I made the pillars shaped as a hexagon, so my house will be in hexagon shape later.

    Second Step: Wall

In this step you're just going to fill the foundation 1 block behind. I'm trying to emphasis to do it 1 block behind. This is because it will cause a depth that has an awesome effect to your structure. The blocks you're using depends on the palette that you're using. In this example, I used oaks.

    Third Step: Detailing

    [IMG][IMG]

It's one of the vital step in improving your house. In this step I added thin blocks that doesn't completely cover the wall. This gives a decent detail and it preserved the existence of the wall and also the depth effect. I used spruce stairs and fences for they are thin blocks. As you can see, they're spruce and not oak. This is to show the detailing and it matches the palette that we have. Again, the blocks that you will use depends on your palette.

    Fourth Step: Roof

    [IMG][IMG]

In this step we're adding the roof. Again, you need to follow your palette. In this example I used spruce stairs for this simple diagonal rake. You can also try to make it curved or higher. I used oak stairs for the main surface of the roof. As you can see in each corner, there are rakes. This is to make a great effect to your house. Observe how i start the rake and learn how it will blend. In the first picture, the wall is 5 blocks wide which mean the rake will be wider as well. The rake's width depends on the walls. If you mastered this step, try using solid blocks such as stained clay blocks. In that case, it will look unique and better.

    Fifth Step: Polishing and Interiors

As you can see, the walls changed and have a random block pattern. Also, I changed the roof a bit and ruined the stairs pattern. These are to show a rustic design.

In the first story I put crafting table, chests and other useful blocks. Try to populate the house and leave no empty spaces.
For the second story, I put a simple customized bed, carpets and storage. You can put whatever you want, just make sure that it fits.

That's all! Just follow these simple steps and you'll surely improve your house. Just remember to keep the palette and don't be afraid to experiment. I hope you'll like it. If you have questions, you can comment them and I'll reply as soon as I can.
