In the poem "dooff, " the author, the critically acclaimed poet dooff, expressed his thoughts on the concept of individualism and self-acceptance. In the first line, he begins with a strong statement that reflects his attitude toward the significance of his name. It is clear that his tone remains absolute and powerful, stressing the idea that the author is firm with his belief in himself. In order to further solidify the ideas expressed in the first line, he repreats his name again. The effect of this repetition manifests in the readers viewpoint on the name "dooff" as well as signifying the emphasis put on the ideas of individualism by the author. Because he chooses to use his name repetitively, the author is able to send the message that people should be prideful of their name and should strive to seek an individualistic lifestyle. To end the poem, the author chooses to address the reader directly followed by yet another repetition of his name. Thus, the idea is portrayed that the author is not only prideful of his name within himself, but is also willing to express his feelings and sense of individualism to the world. Overall, this poet's sharp messages enable it to effectively impact the reader in ways longer and more directly poems cannot.

The first sentence is actually a imperative. I chose to instruct myself to "myself". It's a reflection on the fact that we are not material beings but merely the actions we do.

To show that this reflection need not be deep or serious, and to encourage the reader to listen to their moving selves, I chose the casual Australian farewell "Cheers mate" and signed the poem with my name because the reader sucks.
