Why can't you send links to other servers with /msg? I think it should be allowed if it is someone you know who is fine with it? Is this enforced by player reports-not by staff looking through chat logs?
Hey @Leopard_Pal , That rule states that you cannot use msg to advertise, any type of minecraft servers is because, your still advertising, leading mega to loose more players, and we want players online Think of it as this I tell someone a server ip They tell 2 people those 2 people tell 4 people those 4 people tell 8 people those 8 people tell 16 people its a chain reaction Leading mega to loose players If u do see an advertiser report them at Report section - Rye
I mean not using it to advertise-something like this (pretend I am steve and my friend is alex) /msg alex hey-wanna go to us.server.com ? we can meet on there-and come back here later this is not advertising-as this is my friend-and this is in place of calling him or her in real life this is not /msg alex come to us.server.net free ranks and admin! tell your friends or /msg-ing lots of people about it
Yeah but alex can tell 2 other people then 2 people tell other people, chain reaction. It just isnt right
But alex wouldn't-cause I am telling him to meet me-we are real-life friends I know I can do that-but most servers let you say whatever in /msg as long as the player is fine with it
:I I'm just saying, if the server rules say not to do something and it's very easy not to, there's no need to get into an argument/debate (however you view serious conversations on the server these days) about it.
